Rhapsody Wing Fitting Threads

We have found on the first batch of E-flite Rhapsody’s there might be some glue inside the threads where the wing fittings screw into. If you have a Rhapsody that was purchased between October – December 2010, you will need to clean out the threads before assembly. This is an easy task and is accomplished with a 4-40 tap (available from Dubro under part number DUB361) and tap handle. If you feel uncomfortable and have a wing panel where the fittings will not screw into, please call Horizon Hobby Product Support for help.

The tools for the job are (1) 4-40 tap and (1) tap handle.
The parts required are all (4) wing panels: left and right, top and bottom.

Step 1. Insert the tap into the tap handle and tighten the tap handle.

Step 2. Slowly and smoothly thread the tap into each hole in each wing panel where the strut fittings attach. You will want to screw the tap in approximately ½ inch. Once you have the tap screwed in back it out.

Note: There are (2) holes per wing panel.

Step 3. Now screw the wing strut fitting into each hole in the wing as per the manual. If the fitting does not go in, repeat step 2 going in slightly farther.

All future kits shipped from Horizon Hobby after December 5, 2010 will have been checked and corrected as well as all future production runs.

We are very sorry for the inconvenience with this product. We strive to continue to provide high quality products for you to have fun with hobbies. If you have any questions regarding this, please contact Horizon Hobby Product Support.
